Guided Meditation

Brain

Guided Meditation has been used for many centuries as a method of calming and  stilling the mind and many people find that having a voice leading the way into and

through the meditation is very helpful in achieving a calm, relaxed  state of mind. Hence 'guided meditation' .Guided meditation is a meditation  technique of enhancing detachment. When you can see your own emotions and  thoughts 'from the outside', you can begin to influence the ebbs and flow of  your mind. This leaves you less susceptible to unpleasant emotion and more  able to reach your potential.

A guided  group meditation is usually less expensive than a private session.

The term-guided meditation itself suggests it is a meditation through a guide.

Guided meditation can take any of following forms:

  • a friend reading a prepared script from a book (or write your own!)
  • a cassette you've prerecorded
  • a commercially prepared cassette or CD
  • a professional guide leading an individual or group
