Be
aware about your body – just what your body does without any conscious effort.
It’s running your respiratory, circulatory, and nervous and other vital systems.
It’s constantly scanning its environment, destroying diseased cells and fighting
for survival.
Human
body is an incredible system – a piece of art – roughly 7 trillion cells with a
mind boggling level of physical and biochemical coordination necessary just to
turn a page, cough, or drive a car. Even more amazing it that its all running on
auto pilot . When was the last time you reminded your heart to beat, your lungs
to expand and contract, or your digestive system to secrete just the right
chemicals at just the right time?
Intelligence manages the whole system, much of it unconscious.
Our
body is a brilliant piece of machinery that outperforms even the most advanced
computer.
Our mind and body interact - there is a continuous flow of information between
them causing them to affect one- another.
Our every thought has a physical affect and every physical state we get into
affects our thinking. We’ve no doubt recognized that when you feel physically
tired or less-than-well this affects our mood. For example it's very hard to be
cheerful and humorous when we're exhausted. Similarly our thinking affects our
physical state. If we spend a while going around telling our self we can't cope
or that we're a failure this will tense our up and drain our energy.
Scientific laboratory studies are producing
increasing evidence of close relationship between body and mind. How does the
body balance and harmonizes the functioning of the brain, which contains the
mind?
Something
in mind is working seven days a week from behind the scenes to help you
fulfill your life purpose.
Your
body is restless.
“You will
have to relax from the circumference.”
The first
step in relaxing is the ‘Body’.
Remember
as many times as possible to look in the body, whether you are carrying some
tension in the body somewhere - at the neck, in the head, in the legs. Relax it
consciously. Just go to that part of the body, and persuade that part, say to it
lovingly "Relax!"
And you
will be surprised that if you approach any part of your body, it listens, it
follows you - it is your body! With closed eyes, go inside the body from the toe
to the head searching for any place where there is a tension. And then talk to
that part as you talk to a friend; let there be a dialogue between you and your
body. Tell it to relax, and tell it, "There is nothing to fear. Don't be afraid.
I am here to take care - you can relax." Slowly and slowly, you will learn the
knack of it. Then the body becomes relaxed.
If you
become capable of relaxing the body voluntarily, then you will be able to help
your mind relax voluntarily. Mind is a more complex phenomenon. Once you have
become confident that the body listens to you, you will have a new trust in
yourself. Now even the mind can listen to you. It will take a little longer with
the mind, but it happens.
